Recent drilling by Tri Origin Exploration (TSE) at the Lewis Ponds project in New South Wales, Australia, has led to the discovery of a new sulphide zone.
This phase of drilling has focused on an area south of the Lewis Ponds deposit. Hole 41 cut a 1-metre interval that averaged 0.83% copper, 6.05% lead, 7.42% zinc, 1.73 grams gold and 179 grams silver per tonne.
This intersection was followed by a 6-metre massive sulphide zone which averaged 0.29% copper, 2.73% lead, 5.95% zinc, 1.02 grams gold and 59 grams silver. Tri Origin is encouraged by the new intersection and believes there is good potential to delineate a new massive sulphide zone.
Three other holes drilled between the Lewis Ponds deposit and Hole 41 failed to intersect economic mineralization, while a fourth hole drilled closer to the Lewis Ponds deposit intersected low grade values.
In addition, two holes were drilled on the extremities of the Lewis Ponds deposit. Hole 37 cut a narrow intersection of mineralization followed by the Main zone which averaged 0.14% copper, 0.99% lead, 2.06% zinc, 1.9 grams gold and 63 grams silver over 15 metres.
