The Similco copper mine near Princeton, B.C., will remain open until the end of November. It was previously scheduled to close Sept. 10.
Owner Princeton Mining (TSE) is working with the Job Protection Commission to reduce costs to allow the mine to remain open during the current period of depressed copper prices.
The company is seeking concessions on power costs and taxes.
