CIM to hear of diamond tour

Highlights of a Russian diamond tour last spring will feature prominently in an address by David Wahl at the Sept. 23 luncheon of the Toronto branch of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum at the Royal York Hotel.

Wahl, vice-president of the consulting firm Watts, Griffis and McOuat, led the tour (an abridged version of his report appears on pages 21-23 of this issue). His remarks on Russian diamond mining will be referenced by his experience in diamond exploration activities in the Northwest Territories. A graduate of the Colorado School of Mines, Wahl served as managing partner, then president, of Derry, Michener, Booth & Wahl prior to joining Watts, Griffis and McOuat.
