Drilling on the Copper Mountain property in Nevada has returned oxide copper values for partners Cactus West Explorations (VSE) and Mina Resources (VSE).
Mina, which is earning a 51% interest in the property, drilled 44 holes in a reverse-circulation program totalling 8,800 ft.
Twenty-seven of the 52 holes drilled during the last two phases of work returned mineralized intervals ranging from 0.18% to 2% copper within eight zones.
Some of the wider intersections included: 125 ft. grading 0.31% copper; 125 ft. of 0.48% copper; 100 ft. of 0.39% copper; 110 ft. of 0.5% copper; 110 ft. of 0.69% copper; and 135 ft. of 0.54% copper.
Work in the 1970s outlined 1-3 million tons of oxide copper material, and Cactus West is confident the recent drilling expands the potential resource.
Metallurgical test work and additional drilling are planned.
