Diadem releases drilling results

Drill logs and partial assays from the Pekan River property in Quebec are lending encouragement to Diadem Resources (ME).

The results show that the four holes drilled on the property, 60 km south of Wabush, Nfld., share the same mineralization. In the core, the ultramafic sill structure shows two contiguous zones of mineralization. In the upper zone, three of the four holes yielded an unweighted average of 0.9% combined copper-nickel-cobalt over an average thickness of 11 metres. In the lower zone, the same holes have an unweighted average of 1.19% combined copper-nickel-cobalt over an average thickness of 8 metres.

Four more holes were drilled 75 metres downdip from the others. Visual estimates report the thickness of disseminated sulphides increased to 50 metres here, and massive sulphides at the base of the lower zone were also observed. According to Diadem, the increase in grade and thickness confirms the existence of an embayment structure (a known setting for economic nickel deposits) within the sill.

Meanwhile, geophysical surveys are being conducted on the Dihourse property, 115 km west of Voisey’s Bay, Nfld. The survey will outline

copper-nickel-cobalt targets. The property is owned by Diadem and Ateba Mines (ASE).
