Lithium Chile (TSXV: LITH; US-OTC: LTMCF), among the few companies exploring in both Argentina and Chile, is pursuing Argentina’s “next world class” battery metal deposit at its Arizaro project, CEO Steve Cochrane says in a new video.
Arizaro hosts indicated resources of 1.5 million tonnes of lithium oxide and 1.7 million inferred tonnes, according to a 2023 preliminary economic assessment. An expanded drill program underway could increase the resource by another 1.5 million tonnes, a significant amount to help meet rising demand for lithium in EV manufacturing.
Indigenous communities in the area have blessed Arizaro in the form of the Mother Earth ceremony known as Pachamama, Cochrane said in an interview with Alisha Hiyate, editor-in-chief of The Northern Miner. They spoke at the Canadian Mining Symposium in London in October.
