Ontario appoints lands commissioner

Appointed Ontario’s new mining and lands commissioner in August was Linda Kamerman.

The commissioner performs both administrative and judicial duties under the Mining Act. Kamerman’s job also entails staging hearings and making recommendations to the minister of natural resources under the Aggregate Resources Act and the Lakes and Rivers Improvement Act, and hearing appeals under the Conservation Authorities Act.

Kamerman has been a member of the Rent Review Hearing Board for more than five years.
