NEWS ROUNDUP — CopperQuest options Kidd leases

An agreement recently signed between CopperQuest (CDN) and Zacherra Holdings will give CopperQuest the option to purchase three mineral leases in Kidd Twp., Ont.

The leases lie just west of ground held by White Star Copper Mines (CDN), where Falconbridge is currently testing for Kidd Creek-type base metal mineralization with two rigs.

CopperQuest, which has proposed a program of linecutting and geophysics over a number of airborne anomalies, will pay $100,000 for the leases. Zacherra will retain a 1.5% net smelter royalty which can be purchased for $1 million within five years.

CopperQuest has also reached an agreement with Noranda (TSE) on the junior’s 26-claim base metal property in Connaught Twp. near Kirkland Lake, Ont. Noranda will carry out a geophysical (IP) survey immediately.
