Work resumes at Gowganda bet

Work on the Gowganda, Ont., silver property to complete an exploration program started in 1987 has been started by Sandy K. Mines, a private company owned by NLX Resources (TSE).

This year’s program will initially consist of 10,000 ft of underground drilling as well as drifting on the silver-bearing structures outlined last year. The work is being funded by Somicom 1988 and Co., Ltd. Partnership.

NLX reports a feasibility study undertaken by Kilborn Ltd. indicates about 1.8 million tons of tailings averaging 1.43 oz silver per ton could be economically processed at a rate of 225,000 tons per year, based on a silver price of $7 per oz.

Also, negotiations continue into the possible amalgamation of the operations of NLX and Sandy K.
