Trenching on the Ponce Enriquez project in Ecuador is confirming the presence of widespread, low-grade gold mineralization for owner Zappa Resources (VSE).
Soil sampling on the Guadalupe concession outlined a gold-in-soil anomaly measuring more than 1,700 metres long by 300 metres wide and grading more than 400 parts per billion gold.
On the western section of the anomaly, trenching of a 150-by-170-metre area has returned grades ranging up to 1.55 grams gold per tonne over 14 metres. Sampling on the eastern section has returned values of up to 1.62 grams gold over 14 metres.
Zappa hopes to fund further work on the property, including drilling.
