U.S. REPORT Cominco Resources tests imported ore

A 20,000-tonne test shipment of imported nickel ore is expected to be received this month at the Glenbrook nickel smelter in Riddle, Ore.

Cominco Resources International (TSE), which owns 50% of the smelter, said the test is designed to confirm the feasibility of shipping and treating ore from New Caledonia.

If found feasible, the imported ore could enhance the overall economics of the Glenbrook smelter which is not yet operating profitably.
