Triton constructs mill in Nicaragua

At a cost of US$6.6 million, Triton Mining (TSE) has constructed a 1,000-ton-per-day mill at its Limon gold mine in Nicaragua.

The new circuit consists of a semi-autogenous grinding ball mill combined with cyanide leach and carbon-in-pulp processing. The mill replaces a 50-year-old, 450-ton-per-day cyanide processing plant.

Triton expects to increase annual gold production to 50,000 from 24,000 oz., with a cash cost in the neighborhood of US$200 per oz.

The company has 17.6 million shares outstanding.
