TSE-listed Thunderwood Resources and CDN-listed First Canadian Gold have begun a $250,000 program of ground magnetics and drilling on the Lac Long nickel-copper property in northern Quebec.
Lac Long comprises 7,400 hectares and is the only property in the immediate area of the nickel belt known as Raglan. Falconbridge owns the Raglan ground, upon which 18 million tonnes of nickel-copper mineralization (3.13% nickel and 0.88% copper) have been identified. Appreciable platinum group metals exist in some of the Raglan deposits.
The Lac Long property contains previously untested coincident airborne electromagnetic, magnetic and resistivity anomalies over a 2-km strike length.
