A 400-ton-per-day test gold mill under construction in the Goudreau area of northern Ontario could become operative in December, Muscocho Explorations and McNellen Resources report.
The joint-venture (50/50) partners in the Magino project report extensive bulk sampling and test milling of gold-bearing material will likely be initiated that month as part of the final exploration phase prior to a production decision early next year.
A deep drilling program is planned to test ore conditions down to 2,000 ft. Muscocho President J. T. Flanagan says that while there is a strong tonnage position with regards to projected mill requirements, the deep drilling will provide data for forward planning.
Current drill-indicated reserves, to a maximum depth of 500 ft, stand at 1.9 million tons averaging 0.25 oz per ton.
Underground exploration at the project has been in progress for a year; 2,980 ft of ramping and 9,355 ft of lateral exploration have been completed.
Mr Flanagan reports foundations are complete and certain major components, including the coarse ore bin, are in place at the mill site.
