The fifth annual Canadian Mining Games were hosted this year by McGill Mining Engineering in conjunction with Genie des Mines de l’Ecole Polytechnique of Montreal.
In addition to attracting engineering students from the above schools, the March event drew representatives from Queen’s University, Laurentian University, the University of Laval, the Technical University of Nova Scotia and the University of Alberta.
Students participated in activities such as jackleg drilling, rock and mineral identification, mineral industry trivia, mine surveying, AutoCad drawings, mock mine rescue and mineral separation.
