Record production for Eastmaque

The American Girl mine near Ogilby, Calif., produced in excess of 3,300 oz. gold in March, a record month of production for joint venture partners Eastmaque Gold Mines (TSE) and Morrison Knudsen (NYSE). Eastmaque said a new crushing plant at the joint venture mine project is working above the design capacity of 500 tons per hour. A new heap leach facility is also reported to be working well and the partners expect to commission a new mill facility at the project in mid-May.

Underground mining began in mid-March and 200 tons per day are currently being mined. Full production is expected to be reached in mid-May when about 700 tons per day will be mined.

On its own, Eastmaque operates the Kirkland Lake tailings project in Ontario. This operation produced 1,300 oz. in March to boost the company’s net share of gold production for the month to a total of almost 3,000 oz.
