OBITURARY — Charles McLeish

A former employee at Cominco’s Sullivan mine operations, Charles Allan McLeish died recently in Kimberley, B.C. He was 93.

A native of Irvine, Alta., he graduated from the University of British Columbia with a BSc degree in mining in 1949.

During his career, Mr. McLeish worked at many sites in Canada, including Uranium City, Sask., and at a uranium mine at Blind River, Ont. He was also active in Quebec’s Chibougamau district, the South Porcupine region of Ontario, Terra mine at Great Bear Lake, N.W.T., and Gaspe Copper in Murdochville, Que.

He was a life member of the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, and a member of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada and the Northwest Territories Chamber of Mines.
