Meeting cancelled

The First International Symposium on Sulphide Dust

Explosions, Mine Fires & Emergencies (SDEMF&E), scheduled to be held in Bathurst, N.B., Oct. 27-31, 1991, has been cancelled because of the low number of delegates (33) registered.

The registration deadline was Oct. 5 and the break-even number of delegates was about 100, depending on the financial support received from industry. “The poor registration and financial support are obviously due to the current economic woes,” says Brent Kristof, general chairman of the organizing committee.
