Gregor to drill Hemlo area bet

An 8-week drill program will begin shortly on Gregor Goldfields’ (CDN) gold property near Hemlo, Ont.

This program will test two targets — the South Lake and North Hill areas — which are about 1,600 km apart on a north-south-trending mineralized structure.

In the South Lake area, drilling will be carried out along a strike length of about 400 metres, where mineralization is thought to be amenable to open-pit mining. The holes will undercut a zone which graded up to 7.5 grams gold per tonne over a metre. Five holes are planned to probe the structure at vertical depths from 150 to 300 metres. Up to five additional holes may be drilled if warranted.

Four holes will be drilled in the North Hill area to investigate the intersection of the mineralized zone with a sequence of ultramafic rocks. Previous drilling in this area intersected mineralization up to 18.3 metres grading 1.22 grams gold, including 6.34 grams over 0.61 metres, and 2.2 grams over 6.1 metres.
