Golden Star halts Sierra Leone work

As a result of security problems in gaining access to mineral claims, a subsidiary of Golden Star Resources (TSE) has temporarily suspended most of its activities in Sierra Leone, West Africa.

Pan African Resources’ largest project in the country is the advanced-staged, Baomahun gold play, which was the subject of an option agree- ment the company signed last October.

The subsidiary nevertheless intends to maintain a presence in Sierra Leone, pending resolution of these problems.
