Field personnel and drill equipment were recently mobilized to the Bellas Gate property in Jamaica to test two advanced porphyry copper-gold targets and a new copper-gold-silver discovery.
The project will be operated by Prime Explorations for Golden Ring Resources (VSE), a junior managed by Murray Pezim and Chet Idziszek. Several other Pezim-controlled juniors have acquired or are examining mineral properties in Jamaica.
The first part of Golden Ring’s program will test the Connors and Camel Hill prospects where previous operators did some drilling. The second phase will involve stepout drilling of these targets, and also test the Grant’s area, a new discovery about 1.7 miles southeast of the Connors prospect. Drilling in the 1960s at Connors returned 0.58% copper over 229 ft. and 0.67% copper over 318 ft. Re-assaying of the core for gold (done in 1991) returned 0.018 oz. gold per ton and 0.015 oz. gold respectively for the same intervals. Mineralization in this area is reported to be about 500 ft. thick.
