The British Columbia Chief Gold Commissioner recently ordered the cancellation of the Alpha, Beta, Rho, Gamma, Epsilon and Omega claims held by Eurus Resource (VSE) in the Eskay Creek camp north of Stewart, B.C. Eurus is considering appealing the decision that cancelled most of the claims comprising the Albino Lake property.
The cancelled claims are now mostly held by Tagish Resources, a company in which Lytton Minerals (TSE) has a 50% interest. However the cancellation, if upheld by appeal, will result in the western boundary of Adrian Resources’ (VSE) IKS 1 claim being moved about 1,640 ft. to the west. This in turn will result in the balance of the TOK claim gap falling within the boundaries of Adrian’s IKS 1 claim, rather than to Tagish.
The IKS 1 claim is also being disputed; however, title is currently held by Adrian Resources based an order of the Chief Gold Commissioner last April. Tagish is appealing this decision to the Supreme Court of British Columbia, and the case is expected to be heard in April, 1992.
Gigi Resources (VSE) and Trade Winds Resources (VSE) also reported that a recent inspection report recommends the cancellation of the KAN 1-4 claims, also in the Eskay Creek region. Gigi, which was earning a 50% interest in the KAN 1-6 claims from Trade Winds, intends to defend its interest in the disputed claims.
Tagish overstaked considerable ground in the Eskay Creek region on the basis of section 35 complaints, including the TOK 3-6 claims which host the bulk of reserves on the Eskay Creek property owned by Prime Resources Group (VSE) and Stikine Resources (VSE).
Tagish is pursuing its claim that claims TOK 3-6 were forfeited, despite a recent ruling in favor of Prime and Stikine by the Chief Gold Commissioner. Backer Lytton Minerals said a hearing in the Supreme Court of British Columbia “may be scheduled for early April of this year.”
