The first hole drilled by Adrian Resources (VSE) at the Petaquilla project in Panama returned a 968.2-ft. interval grading 0.71% copper, plus minor gold, silver and molybdenum values.
It was a good start for Adrian which is earning up to a 40% interest in the project from Minnova (TSE). The junior has already completed 10 diamond drill holes during the first phase of exploration, five each at the Botija and Petaquilla deposits which together contain 543 million tons grading 0.56% copper.
The first hole is located at the Botija deposit. The second hole, which intersected a 255.8-ft. mineralized zone starting at a vertical depth of 88.6 ft., assayed 0.71% copper, which includes a 73.8-ft. section returning 1.03% copper. This hole is the most westerly hole cored on the Petaquilla deposit. Assay results from the remaining holes are pending, as is an updated reserve estimate for the project incorporating recent results with previous drilling in the 1960s and 1970s.
Adrian also reported encouraging results from a limited program of hand trenching at the More Creek project less than 30 miles from Eskay Creek, B.C.
