Exploration has resumed on the Scott Lake polymetallic property held by equal partners Thunderwood Resources (TSE) and Greenstone Resources (TSE). Situated 12 miles west of Chibougamau, Que., the property hosts a massive sulphide deposit that is estimated to contain 777,000 tons of grade 6.9% zinc, 0.14% copper, 0.34 oz. silver and 0.01 oz. gold per ton.
Having spent $700,000 on a 25,000-ft. drill program that was completed recently, the joint venture is planning to focus its efforts on three main targets.
They include an area northwest of the Scott Lake deposit where extensive copper-zinc stringer mineralization has recently been discovered.
The exploration program operated by Thunderwood will also explore 1,500 ft. to the west of the existing deposit where a narrow intersection of massive sulphides grading 17% zinc was reported.
The third target is one mile west of the Scott Lake deposit where substantial zinc-rich pyritic semi- massive and massive sulphides were discovered late last year.
