EXPLORATION ’92 — LATIN AMERICA ROUNDUP — Teck invests in

A recent agreement with Northern Crown Mines (VSE) sets the stage for Teck (TSE) to earn an equity interest in the junior as well as an interest in an epithermal bulk-tonnage gold-silver project in Sinaloa state, Mexico.

Northern Crown will have a carried interest in the Guadalupe De Los Reyes project after spending $3 million. Teck has the right to earn a 50% interest by financing 100% of all ongoing costs required to bring the project into production.

Northern Crown will operate the project through the first $1 million expenditure, and Teck will operate thereafter. A surface exploration program is about to begin on the property, to be followed by a drill program in January. The program is aimed at further testing the widespread epithermal system’s potential for open-pit reserves.
