Eskay Creek talks break off

Discussions between Placer Dome (TSE) and Corona (TSE) broke down after the two companies were unable to settle undisclosed issues relating to future development of the Eskay Creek project north of Stewart, B.C. Both majors hold substantial indirect interests in the high- grade polymetallic project, although Corona holds the larger position and is operator through its equity holding in Prime Resources Group (VSE).

The two companies had been involved in discussions aimed at determining what role each company would play in bringing the project into production.

Corona is expecting to complete a feasibility study for Eskay Creek by the end of this year.
