Cabo Exploration Ventures (CVE-V) is preparing to drill the Trinidad concession in south-Central Cuba.
The program will begin following geophysical work, now in progress, on the San Juan and Cortinas prospects.
Results to date have outlined three new anomalous zones with strike lengths exceeding 500 metres each.
Since the pyrite content of the mineralization is negligible, Cabo believes the chargeability responses are primarily generated by disseminated chalcopyrite, which is closely associated with gold and copper values.
The company is encouraged by a recent sampling program on the San Juan main zone, where half of the samples recovered returned more than 1.6 grams gold per tonne. Also, 20% graded better than 11 grams gold, and 40% returned in excess of 0.4% copper.
Cabo’s wholly owned Cuban subsidiary will purchase the balance of the 1,032-sq.-km concession from the Cuban subsidiary of Panama-based MinAmerica.
