At a time when most companies were finding their proposed financings being pulled, one new issue managed to get off the ground. Glencairn Explorations completed a 1.1 million share offering at 32 cents . The issue traded at 38 cents -40 cents .
Reactivated Exxeter Resources was a volume leader this week, trading more than 160,000 shares to a high of $1.40. The company has acquired an option on several gold properties in Nevada. Atlantic Goldfields was also busy, as more than 100,000 shares traded hands. The issue was steady at $4. The company has a $250,000 exploration program under way on a property in Newfoundland.
Carolin Mines, a much troubled B.C. company, was back on coats trading at $1.25-$1.40. The company has been taken over by New York interests. Tyranex Gold was also active, trading at 50 cents -70 cents . The company and partners Mill City Gold and Gunnar Gold, report encouraging results from their exploration work on the old Tyranite gold mine property near Shiningtree, Ont.
