Carolin Mines has been an active trader of late, and this week gained 5 cents to close at 40 cents on a volume of 418,712 shares. Until recently, the company had been plagued by a series of financial difficulties. But a recent $875,000 debenture financing has been completed by Carolin to clear up its balance sheet, and the firm is once again actively exploring its 100%-o wned Ladner Creek gold property near Hope, B.C.
Black Gregor Exploration posted a gain of 3 cents to close at 35 cents this week on a volume of 61,000 shares. The company raised $1 million through a private placement in September to fund work on its Ontario gold properties.
Falling 3 cents to close at 27 cents on heavy volume was Milestone Resources which recently announced plans to drill a low grade copper-nickel prospect in the Bird River area of Manitoba.
