Cheni doubles gold reserves at Toodoggone

Gold reserves at the Lawyers property have been almost doubled, project operator Cheni Gold Mines says. Located in the Toodoggone area of north central B.C., the property is being readied for production at a rate of 550 tons per day.

Data from last summer’s drill program has enabled Cheni to increase reserves to 1,938,000 tons grading 0.196 oz gold per ton and 7.09 oz silver. The reserves include 524,000 tons of drill-indicated possible reserves in a newly discovered ore shoot. Total mineable reserves stand at 1.4 million tons grading 0.2 oz gold per ton and 7.27 oz silver.

Cheni says it is encouraged by the widths and grade of the newly discovered shoot. Of five drill holes, one cut a true width of 30 ft grading 0.22 oz gold and 14.6 oz silver. This zone remains open at depth and along strike. The company is scheduled to bring the property into production in early 1989.
