The geological resource of the Wolverine deposit is now estimated at just over 5.3 million tonnes grading 1.81 grams gold and 359.1 grams silver per tonne, plus 12.96% zinc, 1.41% copper and 1.53% lead.
Situated in the southeastern Yukon, the project is a joint venture between Westmin Resources (WMI-T), with a 60% interest, and Atna Resources (ATN-T), with 40%.
The new resource estimate is based on 49 holes, all of which intersected massive sulphide mineralization. The tonnage has increased 74% over the previous estimate.
The Wolverine deposit comprises the Wolverine zone, which is still partially open, and the newly discovered Lynx zone, which remains open along strike to the west and along dip in both directions.
Most of the tonnage occurs as one lens, or stratigraphic interval. However, an upper lens in the Lynx zone contains 294,000 tonnes grading 1.47 grams gold and 303.1 grams silver, plus 8.73% zinc, 0.79% copper and 1.38% lead.
The lens occurs in the western and southern sides of the zone.
