Dryden completes drilling on QC property near Iskut

A recent drill program by Dryden Resource (VSE) returned encouraging results from both a gold- quartz vein system and a porphyry copper-gold system on the QC property in northern British Columbia.

Dryden, a junior headed by Ron Netolitzky, is earning a 50% interest in the property from Teck (TSE), Triumph Resources (VSE) and Silver Standard Resources (VSE). The property is near the village of Iskut, and not far from the Stewart-Cassiar Highway.

This year’s program consisted of five holes totalling 2,368 ft. Two of the holes tested the upper Gordon gold-quartz vein system at a spacing of 164 ft. Dryden noted that the system has been traced in outcrop for 230 ft., and can be projected by soil geochemistry over a distance of 984 ft. Hole 91-4 returned 12.4 ft. grading 0.55 oz. gold and 5.44 oz. silver per ton, plus 2.87% copper and 4.98% zinc from 135.5-147.9 ft., while hole 91-5 returned 1.6 ft. of 0.28 oz. gold, 2.32 oz. silver, 0.81% copper and 3.53% zinc from 121.9-123.5 ft.

Three holes totalling 1,795 ft. were drilled to test the northern portion of a large porphyry copper-gold system that was outlined by previous field programs. Dryden said the holes are located along a section line on which two drill holes were completed by Amoco in 1970.

Hole 91-1 returned 277.2 ft. grading 0.25% copper from 16.7-293.9 ft., while hole 91-2 returned 118.1 ft. of 0.14% copper (from 9.8-127.9 ft.), as well as 98.4 ft. of 0.24% copper, and 192.2 ft. of 0.14% copper. The third hole returned 410.8 ft.

of 0.14% copper from 177.1-587.9 ft.

The porphyry system target is reported to measure 5,577 ft. long by up to 2,952 ft. wide, and is exposed over a vertical distance of 1,148 ft.
