At the Bonaparte gold property near Kamloops, B.C., Claimstaker Resources (VSE) has completed an 18-hole drill program.
Shallow drilling of 3,193 ft. tested the Crow-Jay, one of six veins identified by previous work. All 18 holes intersected quartz veins, with five returning the following significant values: 1.3 ft. of 0.48 oz. gold per ton for hole 2; 1.8 ft. of 0.36 oz. for hole 4; 1.6 ft. of 0.42 oz., plus 2.2 ft. of 0.29 oz., for hole 9; 3.7 ft. of 2.1 oz. for hole 12; and 1.1 ft. of 0.31 oz. for hole 17.
As part of a bulk-sampling program to determine the grade and general minablity of the ore, Claimstaker shipped 4,000 tons averaging 0.75 oz. to Cominco’s smelter at Trail, B.C.
