Northern Platinum finds more reserves

Additional near-surface reserves have been outlined by Northern Platinum (VSE) on the company’s Kanichee copper-nickel property near Temagami, Ont. Drilling has outlined 249,250 tons grading 0.84% copper and 0.54% nickel per ton. This reserve is additional to the 688,800 tons grading 0.46% copper and 0.29% nickel previously identified.

The company also says that values in platinum, palladium, cobalt, gold and silver are present. In most cases, however, any appreciable precious metal credits are forfeited to the smelter.

The Kanichee was a former producer which mined copper-nickel ore from an open pit.
