Patrician drilling at Powell

Junior Patrician Gold Mines (PXX-A) has begun a diamond drill program on its wholly owned Powell Twp. gold property near Matachewan, Ont.

The company established an exploration grid in March, and magnetometer and horizontal-loop electromagnetic (EM) surveys were conducted to corroborate airborne EM responses obtained from a government-sponsored survey conducted in 1975.

A strong EM anomaly, continuous for more than 1 km, has been found to underlie the western portion of the property, and nearby sub-parallel EM anomalies have also been identified. As well, two anomalous EM trends were outlined elsewhere on the property.

The current drill program will consist of roughly 500 metres. No assays have been received yet, but the first hole hit 16.5 metres of fracture-controlled sulphide mineralization, including pyrite, pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite, Patrician reports.
