Summer drilling will test seven targets at the Epworth project, south of Coppermine, N.W.T., operator Rhonda Mining (ASE) has reported.
The first target to be tested is a zone of copper and cobalt mineralization associated with a stromatolite horizon in Proterozoic sediments.
One hole drilled there last year intersected a 4-metre true width of mineralization, including a 2-metre section assaying 0.18% cobalt and 0.53% copper.
In addition, at least six other targets in the Epworth area will be tested.
Also, drilling will begin in June at Rhonda’s wholly owned Jax gold project, 150 km north of Yellowknife, N.W.T. The drilling is aimed at proving up reserves there.
The project is in the northern part of the Courageous Lake gold belt. The target was previously tested by 40 holes, which focused on the near-surface portions of known gold zones. Results ranged from 45 ft. averaging 0.08 oz.
gold, to 12 ft. averaging 1.38 oz.
