OBITUARIES — Elmore Dillman

Elmore Dillman, a mining promoter who worked across Canada, has died. He was 78.

A graduate of the University of Saskatchewan’s mining engineering program, Mr. Dillman started his career in the late 1950s at Uranium City, in northwest Saskatchewan. He was also involved with the uranium rush near Elliot Lake, Ont.

Mr. Dillman also promoted base metal properties in Quebec’s Ungava and Gasp regions, Nova Scotia’s Gays River region, and near Timmins, Ont. He served as a promoter for junior companies such as Key Lake Mines, Brandybrook Mines, NQN Mines, Mid-Patapedia Mines and Eastmain Resources.

He is survived by Geraldine, his wife of 56 years, and children John, Stephen, Judy, Susan and Robert.
