1994 A LOOK BACK — Louvicourt reserves downgraded

In a surprise springtime announcement, Aur Resources (TSE) downgraded reserves at the Louvicourt base metal project northeast of Val d’Or, Que.

Aur said the recalculated reserve figure (undiluted and based on a 2% copper equivalent cutoff grade) now stands at 15.7 million tonnes grading 3.4% copper and 2.2% zinc, plus silver and gold values. The estimate is down from 26.5 million tonnes grading 4.2% copper and 2.2% zinc.

Louvicourt shipped its first copper concentrates in August. Aur owns a 30% interest in the project; Teck (TSE) has 25% and Novicourt (TSE), 45%.
