Drilling on the Zapote zone, at the Guadalupe project in western Mexico, puts the drill-indicated resource at 5.7 million tons grading 0.044 oz. gold per ton.
Owner Northern Crown Resources (VSE) bases the estimate on 65 holes and hopes to accelerate development.
The company also reports encouraging results from four holes drilled on the adjacent Noche Buena zone, which returned average values of 0.041 oz. over 40 ft.
Further drilling is planned and Northern Crown is considering acquiring additional bulk-tonnage gold projects in the country.
