A unit of Battle Mountain Gold (NYSE) recently started a 6,000-ft. diamond drill program on the Phoenix project aimed at locating large-tonnage gold-copper skarn deposits.
The property is in the Greenwood mining camp of southern British Columbia where the Phoenix mine operated during 1899-1919 and 1955-1975. Junior partner Kettle River Resources (VSE) said Battle Mountain’s 6-hole program will test geological and geophysical targets north of the old Phoenix pit.
