A $5.74-million rights offering has been completed by Citadel Gold Mines (TSE). The company issued 1,382,687 common shares and an equal amount of flow-through shares.

Bernard Sherman and his private holding company increased their holding in Citadel to 4.5 million shares. This represents a 32.7% interest. Citadel owns a gold deposit near Wawa, Ont.


The Toronto Branch of CIM is hosting a luncheon meeting on Sept 15, at the Concert Hall, Royal York Hotel featuring guest speaker J. F. McOuat. His topic will be “Due Diligence.”


The 16th Annual Geoscience Forum will be held in the Katimavik Rooms of the Explorer Hotel in Yellowknife, Dec 6-8, featuring numerous displays and talks on the ongoing gold exploration boom and developing PGM boom in the Northwest Territories.

The chairman of Homestake Mining, Mr Harry Conger, will address more than 300 mining executives and investment professionals at the Western Gold Show in San Francisco, Oct 27-29. His topic will be “World Gold Supply.”

M. L. Emerson has been appointed the new president and chief operating officer of Roman Corp. (TSE), the controlling shareholder of Denison Mines (TSE). Emerson replaces Charles Parmelee who left abruptly last month.

Emerson spent the past 32 years as chief financial officer with Proctor and Gamble, Helen Roman-Barber, Roman’s chairman and chief executive officer said.


Granville Resources and Jantar Resources have changed their transfer agent to First City Trust Company.


Overton Energy & Resources and Newfoundland Exploration have amalgamated and continued as one corporation under the name Newfoundland Exploration.
