The company said a grab sample of 0.25 oz gold was obtained from a surface trench across the new zone in weathered granitic outcrop. The zone is parallel to the original East zone area where earlier work revealed veining similar to that of the Snowbird zone. Both East zone areas will be investigated further in ongoing work programs.
X-Cal also plans to continue drilling its North and Snowbird zones, with the emphasis on increasing reserves in the North Zone area. Previous drilling returned values of up to 20 ft of 0.30 oz gold and established a current possible North Zone reserve of 250,000 tons of 0.20 oz gold per ton.
X-Cal recently optioned its Anderson Lake project in the Bridge River area of British Columbia to Teck Corp.
