Nickel giant Inco recently awarded about 460,000 shares to 16,000 workers under the company’s employee share award program. Each worker was given 10 common shares and one additional share for each full year of service. The company distributed 432,000 shares in February, 1989, at the program’s initiation. For the program to be continued in 1991, Inco must record a return on common shareholders’ equity of at least 15%, Chairman Donald Phillips said.
