Saskatchewan’s minister of environment and resource management will address the 19th annual symposium of The Uranium Institute on Sept. 8 in London, England.
Berny Wiens will open the first session of the symposium, which will deal with issues related to safety and environmental standards in the nuclear industry, including uranium mining.
Saskatchewan is the world’s preeminent producer of uranium.
The Sept. 7-9 symposium will bring together representatives of countries involved in the nuclear fuel cycle. More than 400 participants from some 25 countries are expected to attend.
