The Women’s Association of the Mining Industry of Canada (WAMIC) Foundation is inviting miners in the Toronto region to shake off the winter blues at a special fund-raising event titled “The Night of the Groundhog Fund-raising Cocktail Party.”
The event will take place on Groundhog Day, Friday, Feb. 2, at the Ontario Club from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m. Organizers have arranged for Willy G. Hog O’Hara to play the piano, accompanied by vocal groups The Five Willies and The Five Wilhelminas. Other events are planned, including a raffle and the awarding of various prizes.
WAMIC is inviting the mining community to attend “a great party in Hog Town,” complete with refreshments and hot appetizer stations. Tickets and reservations are available by calling 416-929-9856. Charitable donation receipts are issued for the tickets, which cost $50 each.
