Wallbridge adds to Sudbury stable (December 17, 2001)

Having acquired a licence to explore 8.4 sq. km of land near Windy Lake, northwest of Sudbury, Ont., Wallbridge Mining (WM-T) plans to spend $2.3 million on exploration this winter.

The renewable licence lasts five years and Wallbridge can lease the property should it find a mineral deposit of economic importance.

Geophysical surveys by Wallbridge have already located two conductive zones, and diamond drilling and additional surveys are planned for the new year.

Wallbridge holds a large land position in the Sudbury Basin area, where it is exploring for polymetallic deposits in offset dykes and faults.

The Windy Lake land package is 3 km southwest of the historic Levack mines, which yielded some 233 million tons of nickel-copper ore over the past hundred years.
