A reverse circulation drilling program by Brican Resources (VSE) is under way on the Cottonwood gold prospect, part of the North Peak project, in Nevada’s Battle Mountain district. The 18-hole drill program will test a number of targets within a large surface geochemical anomaly containing soil samples with over 40 parts per billion gold and anomalous rock samples grading up to 0.75 oz gold per ton.
The company reports all results have now been received from its initial rock sampling program. These results indicate gold values in the Discovery zone range between 0.03 oz and 0.75 oz.
Brican’s president, Gary Logan, said several other zones of gold mineralization have also been discovered nearby.
The most attractive of these occurs in a road cut about 600 ft southwest of the Discovery zone, where one sample yielded 0.73 oz over a 20-ft width. About 1,400 ft south of the Discovery zone, another 20-ft interval in a road cut averaged 0.057 oz, he said.
The North Peak project is a joint venture with Bow Valley Industries Ltd. (TSE).
