Having avoided bankruptcy, United States Antimony is again producing gold on a small scale.
More than 250 oz. per month is being produced from its Yellowjacket property in central Idaho. (The mill is operating at half capacity.) As for antimony products, output this year is projected to be 5 million lb. The Montana-based company lost a lawsuit (worth about US$1.5 million) in 1989, which led to closure of its gold division and delisting of its stock. A financing arrangement with an individual has since allowed the company to resume operations, and it is seeking to have its stock relisted. It remains vulnerable, however, to debenture-holders, creditors, the individual lender and taxing agencies. Also, more than US$500,000 is owed to directors.
