On June 23, the company announced that the first phase of the project could not proceed, because CIC has been unable to reach an agreement with an engineering contractor. It is now looking at alternative configurations for the first phase, including building a smaller power station. The company hopes to supply power to the Southern African grid, where more electricity is needed.

Premier Gold Mines rose 18 to $2.60 during the session on results from its Geraldton gold project, in Ontario.

Northland Resources fell 50 to $2.88. Northland has three iron ore projects in Scandinavia, and has revised its preliminary economic assessments for the projects.

Revett Minerals fell 4 to 56. The company is starting prefeasibility work on its Rock Creek copper-silver project in Montana.

Energy Fuels dropped 9 to 91. In May, the company announced the purchase of a uranium project in Utah.

Pinetree Capital lost 13 to $2.25. The company owns stakes in a number of mining and exploration companies. On June 20, the company announced a $40-million private placement.

Western Canadian Coal dropped $1.49 to $9.31 after enjoying a huge bull run that started last year. The company is conducting a strategic review that could result in a sale.
