Australian-based Rhodes Mining (RHO-V) is one of several juniors from Down Under to help fund foreign exploration ventures by listing on the Vancouver Stock Exchange.
The company is currently drilling a gold project in Slovakia. The inclined diamond drill holes are testing the continuity of gold mineralization discovered on the face of the Podpolom quarry and at a nearby outcrop.
Channel sampling of the quarry face returned 14 metres of 2.3 grams gold per tonne and 56 metres of 2.8 grams, which includes 26 metres of 5 grams.
The prospect lies within the company’s Javorie exploration licence, which covers a caldera with an extensive area of hydrothermal alteration. Podpolom is one of five separate hydrothermal centres.
